Child Therapy
Child
therapy
is provided
for children
ages 3 to
12. In
order for
change to
take place,
children need
to be an active
participant
in the therapeutic
process.
I
utilize many
different techniques when working
with children
including
play therapy,
behavior modification
techniques,
cognitive
behavioral
therapy,
role-playing,
modeling,
feeling identification,
and anger management.
Areas
of focus include
abuse issues, adjustment
issues, ADHD,
aggression,
anger management,
anxiety, behavior
issues, divorce
issues, depression,
poor coping
skills, school-related
issues, self-harm,
sibling rivalry,
social skill
problems, and
trauma.

Teen
Therapy
Sometimes
it
can feel like
teenagers
are constantly
testing the
limits. Families
that were
once close
can become
disconnected.
During the
teenage years,
problems such
as academic
struggles,
the use of
illegal drugs,
family arguments,
or isolation
can surface.
It
is common for
teens to be
apprehensive
or angry about
coming to counseling. Generally
this passes
fairly quickly
as they recognize
and welcome
a safe place
to openly express
themselves without
judgment.
I
work with teens
on a variety
of challenges including self-harming
behaviors, relationship
issues, parental
conflict, trauma
(past & present),
academic challenges,
social issues,
depression,
anxiety, and
poor coping
skills.
